I had XS weenotions wraps and small weenotions wraps which poppered down for the rise...
XS Bimbles were fab as they went under the cord too...

Hi there,

My little girl will be 3wks old tomorrow and has been in cloth since birth. I only have a few nappies which popper down but haven't really had any problems.

Isla's cord went a bit red at about a week old, but I think it was more because the clip was getting caught on the nappies rather than due to wetness, so my midwife removed the clip and we were fine after that.

I found the newborn mutts, SBOV and Kissaluvs really good for poppering down and sitting below the cord. Isla was 7lbs14oz at birth but quite long. I didn't find any wraps which sat below the cord, even the Newborn ones that popper down.

xx

Small ittis sat nicely under his cord stump, and for fitteds we used muttaqin newborns (snap down) and nippa'd cotton Tots bots, I just pulled the bottom strap of the nippa down quite far so it pulled the centre of the nappy down away from his cord. We used wool over the top no problems, though the cord did get a few wool fibres on, it didn't cause issues.

Ethan's cord didn't fall off for about two weeks - he was a big baby and had a thick cord! It dried out pretty quickly though.

if all else falls and baby is normal/small a nipped prefold/terries with the front folded down with any good fitting wrap should be ok. with alanna i used cotton bottoms/mio/rikki and little lambs wraps and just didn't do them up sung across her belly so we had drop so it didn't touch her belly button/cord. plan on doing the same as i will be changing so often it wont be a big deal. We also waited till the cord fell off and had healed before her first baths so 2wks -2 1/2 wks ish

failing that may be a wham/ someone with snap pliers might be able to add a popper th the front of a wrap for the cord

I used SBOV NB with the snap down and Tots Bots nippa which i folded the front down to be under the cord. Wraps i used to put over the cord, but the elastic was on her tummy, away from the cord.

She lost hers at 10days and we never had any issues.

Also, i am a believer in not bathing babies until the cord is off, so again, that may also have helped it heal nicely.
