We use medinol as calpol has E numbers and colourings etc added.

I too thought calpol stains when you said blacky bits. Have you did a service wash on the machine? 90C with a dose of soda crystals.

Definitely not Calpol, he's not had it yet, only 7 weeks old - but thanks for the warning :D

Service wash is worth a try, will get some soda crystals tomorrow.
