nappies going hard

My cushie tushies have started to go hard : (

There made with fleece on the outside flanelette inside and hemp in the middle. Is it normal for hemp to go hard after awhile? But strangely the booster which are made of the same thing are fine, nice and soft!

At a bit of a loss of what to do next

help please

I have always found that hemp goes stiff. I once had an Easy Peasy Harmony and it was like cardboard after a few washes.

The only hemp nappy I like is the Swaddlebees OV, the velour helps counteract the stiffness of the hemp.

Sorry, don't have any suggestions on how to soften it except for the usual vinegar.
