Lost the love for it lately.

In the last few weeks I have lost a bit of the love for cloth. I find the constant red bum and wee smells are really putting me off and I have been using sposies most if this week

I have tried washing with more powder, washing with less, washing using ecoballs, washing at 60C, rinsing loads and when he pees they stink an almost eye watering amonia smell appears.

I have already given up on night cloth as it was almost burning him by the morning. I have even looked at new nappies and nothing jumps out and shouts buy me.

Pack all your cloth away hun , buy enough sposies to last atleast a couple of weeks and then see how you feel after that.

This is what i did 2 xmas's ago and it did wonders. I was *this* close to giving it all in but i really didnt want it deep down , soooo i packed everything away at the start of the december and didnt even think about it again until the new year. It was just what i needed esp in the run up to xmas and fabulous opening it all up again - the break made me fall in love with cloth all over again :D and the love affair is still going strong now with NN at 3.5 years  :wine:

You have a lot going on atm , add that with the stresses of xmas and you really dont need to deal with cloth problems too

I was quite ready to pack them away but we are so skint atm with the £40-£50 a week extra going on fuel and then the extra I am spending on buses etc too Im not sure if I can budget sposies in! I have enough to last me most of this week so think I will do another big strip and see if we can fix it.

I guess its just one more annoying thing atm thats getting me down :(

I was close to giving up a while ago too. But after a month or so off, I'm back on track. We're using disposables at night, I just can't cope with the smell in the morning any more, and i've thinned the stash out to the bare minimum. And I keep having a day off just to give myself time to catch up on washing etc.

I know what you mean about spending the extra on disposables though they cost so much! Good luck with stripping them though.

I found that stripping with Soda Crystals was the best way for us to get rid of that smell. It happened to us when we used Tots Bots Potion to wash them in.
