Most absorbant booster?

Was hoping someone could direct me to some kind of amazing super booster to help with my son's wetting.

He is urinary incontinent and have recently changed him into cloth nappies, as he is 7 years old he wee's a LOT more than your average toddler which is why it just isn't working for us I think :(

I am currently using a combination of pockets and fitted (custom made) but I just can't make them absorbant enough to cope with over night and I am still having to change bed sheets from how much leaks.

At the moment we are using 3 microfibre inserts along with 2 little lamb bamboo boosters and last night I also added the tri-fold insert from a Close Parent pop-in but he still out-wee'd it

His nappy is HUGE! I can't see how I can add anymore to it, is there a better combination or a better insert that would help?

Bear in mind that he was out weeing sposies at night time as well so its a HUGE amount of wee we are talking about.

Ditch the microfibre completely. It's like a sponge - absorbs quickly but wicks something rotten when compressed. You'd have much more success from something hemp, bamboo or zorb. If you're after larger sized inserts/boosters, a custom option might be your best bet. I think Nappies by Minki or Little Gumnut might be able to help out there. You could always weigh the nappy and bedding (before and after) to see how much pee there really is and how much absorbency you need. :)

Like nichola said ditch the microfibre completely. Replace it with easy peasy hemp with little lamb bamboo on top. To be honest though, it sounds like he needs a specific night nappy. Em at Little Gumnut will make nappies for older children & her all hours nappy would be ideal I would think.

Never heard of hemp or zorb boosters, off to google and buy some now :yahoo:

Please don't tell me I need new nappies, I have been only using these one's a few weeks and they cost a fortune!

They are custom made and designed for older children with continence issues plus they are made to measure so the fit is perfect. I do think it's more of an absorbancy issue.

Will let you know how I get on with hemp and zorb.

I am pretty sure my partner will think I have :loopy: but will try doing the weighing tonight.

I have never seen boosters advertised saying how much liquid they hold though so once I know how much he wee's how would I know which inserts / boosters would be suitable?

Talk to ems and Little gum nut. She specialises in making nappies and pads for people with incontinance issues. Her nappies are not cheep, but they are by far the best night nappies we own. We've got 4 of them atm and I would love a whole stash of just her nappies but alas I dont earn enough :giggle:
For zorb boosters I think the cheepest thing you could do would be to buy a nappy cut of zorb from soozi at lush tush. You can cut it up and use it straight away. it doesnt fray so you dont need to sew it at all. I warn you tho it does bobble loads, so after 1 wash you will wonder whats wrong with it but thats whats supposed to happen :giggle: I would personally use a bamboo booster on top as it draws the wetness away quite quickly, and then some zorb boosters undernieth to store the wee. A nice cheepish option is Little lamb boosters.

ZORB
Little lamb boosters

ETA I just looked at lust tush to grab you a link, and it seems that she doesnt have any instock, but Little gum nut does

I have lots of random bits of zorb that I would be happy to send you for postage cost.
They are just bits i've chopped up from Nappy cuts I've bought from Soozi but they would be worth trying.
pm me if you are interested in them

Will have a look at gum nut for nappies.

The one's we are using were custom made by someone who specialises in continence products so don't think it's the nappy, I bought it without inserts and used my own so I think this is where I went wrong as I stupidly assumed any insert / booster would do. They clearly can't hold enough.

Will try boosting the nappy better and if still no luck will have to look at replacing the nappies as well

I wonder if I can just teach him to sleep suspended above the toilet :giggle:
