I have a Mooncup and really like it, it's great to just pop in and forget about it for a chunk of the day, and I love it most on the really heavy first few days and overnight, no leaks! I still use CSP as back up over night or on it's own on light days.

Not sure if it helps but they are £17 at Feminine Wear with free p&p

They sell quite a few different ones and I do fancy trying the MeLuna soft ones (which are cheaper then the Mooncup and come in different colours if that matter!).

For information on backflow at night:

I think a lot of folk on here have only one cup so find it hard to give an opinion which is best between the cups. A resource which gives a lot of information (and I mean a lot :)) is Livejournal where some women specialise in trying many of the cups and post their views :

Just read the faqs and the reason its not recommended to use a mooncup after giving birth, for 6 weeks is due to risk of infection where the vaginal tissue has been traumatised. I had a c section, and still have my pp bleeding nearly 4 weeks later, in theory I should be ok shouldn't i?

Thanks for that Heather - found that really interesting, particularly the size comparison chart. I bought my Mooncup before we moved back from the US. I had no idea that the US and UK Mooncups were different!

I love my mooncup too. I loved the idea of tampons as I hated the TMI whoosh feeling when getting up etc but they hurt and I always seemed to get thrush or very sore. Disposable pads made me so sore esp in summer so after Roo I took the plunge and wish I found it sooner. I have since converted a few others online as well in my dd's birth board and they all love them too.

I empty it every 4 hours in the day and use it overnight too. I use a CSP liner just incase but I rarely leak.

Oh and I got mine brand new from ebay for £13.

If your midwife would be happy for you to use tampons or otherwise then mooncup would be fine. I wouldn't even have entertained the thought of using a mooncup four weeks after Daragh's birth, it was still too tender down there :giggle:

I will ask, although it looks like its stopped now anyhow, but I thought that last week and it reappeared! I had no labour at all.

WSS, i love CSP and have considered the jam sponge but then I wasnt a tampon girl..ever...

I'm the same. Never got on with tampons at all & I really love my csp. Haven't really seriously considered the sponge but it is something I want to look into.

I've had a mooncup for years and years and wouldn't use anything else now. I used to always leak, never with a mooncup. It didn't take too long to figure out how to put in. If you find it tricky a bit of lubricant can help. I definitely recommend cutting all the stem off as well.

When out and about, if you need to empty it you can just wipe it out with tissue. But they seem to last a lot longer than tampons so I could often get away with just leaving it.

I somehow lost mine while pregnant so had to buy a new one in Boots.
