My DIY cloth nappy journey!

:sewing: Am very pleased with my first attempt :yahoo: It is an upcycled Tshirt one made from the free Rocket Bottoms NB pattern :)

I had 2 layers of tshirt and 3 of hemp with a thick towelling over the top:

There is a fleece lining to keep him dry :D

Poppers on through just the 2 tshirt layers not the fleece:

I used the channel method to do the elastic so attached that:

Then turned and topstitched and added the other poppers including a little cord one to clip the front down. There is an optin to add another popper to the wings if I end up with a tiny baby to make it go smaller but it looks pretty perfect NB size to me so I wont' bother now I can add later once we meet our little man  :pregnant: :bf:

Again a learning curve! Took ages but I'm sure I'll get quicker and quicker! Even Josh's 13 year old mates that came in were very impressed with it - they thought it was 'cool' :giggle:

That's fab Tory, and using up old t-shirts is a great idea.

Thanks girls, I'm thrilled with it!

I know - this was a tshirt that was handed to Louis and was heading straight out to the charity shop as it was a bit faded and out of shape, the white one was one that J's mum got when she was out here and it ended up with a big stain on it but was still almost new material. Other bonus is that it is soooooo lovely and soft  It is making me so excited to meet my little guy who shall remain nameless :pregnant: :bw: :blw: :bf:  I have a fave tshirt of Louis that I'll try to get a cut out of next!
