You can object on the grounds it's your body not theirs! lol! You don't *have* to do anything they say in labour.... I think to *make* you do something they'd have to section you as mental before they could.

and it generally takes longer to section someone than it would to leave them to it in labour anyway!!!
the body really is a marvellous thing.
in the antenatal classes i went to there was one girl who was born in israel during a big war, there was a great shortage of drs, nusrees and space so when the women came in in labour they sedated them so they slept straight thru their births (were monitored of course) and lifted the sedation when the baby was born....not although it sounds super awful...just think, your body can just get on with it, completely alone...even while you are sleeping and lieing down...magic
