When i am fudging it i tend to fold a couple of boosters for the front section. Put wool soaker on then fleece sleepsuit.

Don't know if it's :yahoo: or  to shared pain :giggle: Yep it's def also because he is feeding all night, my best guess is on average every hour but who knows? I hardly know my own name anymore let alone counting night feeds! As a similarly chunky newborn he only fed once or twice a night and didn't drop a single ounce in weight from birth

I think part of the the problem is that I had 2 terries folded - one diagonally then in half (is it gaynors fold?), and the other pad folded. The wrap just can't cope with that depth. Tonight he has a new(er) blueberry with tighter leg elastic which is coping with a bamboozle and pad folded terry. Which are your nn @littlesez? I really am reluctant to spend the money (esp if we can cope with the terries we have) but will if we have to. Any idea what other wraps come up big?

Does this mean I have to step further into the wool world (which means dh will not do that bit of the nappy wash) or maybe fleece wraps (which means nappy washes can still be a shared job!). I'm liking your belt and braces approach there, wool then fleece! I don't think I'd have thought of that, maybe that's something to consider for failsafe living...

You do not want to know how much I have spent ! Imagine it than double what you thought! I would try terriers first with wool xx

Cant advise of nappies to try as its been awhile for me, but with regards to getting nappies dry in the winter. I used to have this problem as I never had a tumble dryer. I have a modern combi boiler in an airing cupboard and I attached nylon string backwards and forwards with hooks in the walls like lots of little washing lines, that way the warmth from my boiler dried them a lot quicker than them just hanging on a clothes horse in a cold room. Do you have any boiler cupboard you could try this with?

aah good idea but no, we've no airing cupboard. We do try to use the heat in the kitchen and dry stuff in there. The boiler (combo boiler) is in there and it does tend to be the warmest room :)
