NN recommendations, please

Postby Soupdragon » Mon Nov 23, 2009 8:00 am

Well, after Iris woke up wet through again this morning I'm going to have to admit that our current stash of night nappies are no longer working for us. :x  I have another load of bedding to wash because she's absolutely saturating her nappies and her grobag ends up soaked. ATM we use:

- heavily, heavily boosted Bedbugs (these haven't really worked for a while, but they're pretty!)
- boosted HO NN
- FF NN

Even the FF NNs can't cope - I'm going to try with extra boosting, but we only have two and that's not enough and they're not exactly easy to get hold of. I have a Puddlekins Silent Nights on order, but I would prefer another couple of night nappies to replace the Bedbugs. So I need some recommendations for a super-soaker, please. :) I don't use pockets at all, so need a fitted. She has such skinny legs that the amount of stuffing she'd need in a pocket would lead to leg gape. There was a nasty incident once when I tried a Minki that I don't wish to repeat. :giggle:

Thanks!

we use wnnn old style but have to stuff them so not sure whether that would be any use for you? They are really good and by far the best night nappy i have tried. we previously used bamboozles with a million layers which got outpeed :giggle: and udnn are ok too but again they are stuffed. What about a new style wnnn they seem to be well received and suree they have lay in boosting check the review section  .

oh oh another thing i have noticed is when wool is freshly lanolised(and i always use too much so they are really well lanolised) that helps too. HTH
apart from the leaky nights hope you and lovely iris are both well

have you tried the new style WNNN? we are loving those at the moment, they really are super and the fit is so much better than the old ones too!

noooooooooo dont do it! :giggle: charlie is a very heavy wetter too, and the WNNN arent up to it! If you want to try one, borrow one first!
I too have to boost HO NN, but its still wet in the morning, although the wool is just damp. Im assuming you use wool too?
The only nappy to cut it so far for us is the Lovewee. I have one you can borrow if you like? x

We only use fitteds and wool - never PUL or fleece. And her night wool is all freshly washed and lanolised. It's had to have been, given she keeps outpeeing the nappies. So I don't think underlanolising is the issue; I always end up with sticky wool. :giggle:

Jasmine doesn't wet so heavily any more, but we're getting on really well with new WNNN - let me know if you'd like to borrow one.

I'm also loving BBH Magic-Alls; we've just got one - although they have microfibre in them, the pocket is absolutely massive for stuffing.

I also like Huggles because they have such a massive pocket - again, happy to lend one to you.

That's all we're using most nights.

Just a thought...what time do you put Iris down on a night and when does she have her last drink? Could you bring her last drink forward a bit, say an hour before bedtime and put her NN on at the last minute before you put her down, then she may not pee as much in the night IYKWIM. When we were PTing Oli we wouldn't let him drink after 6 in the hope that most of the wee he needed to do would be done before he went to sleep. :D

I know you say you only use fitteds but would a standard minkee be worth a try? A lot of people seem to get on well with them for heavy wetters. Gracie has started to pee more at night but I still wouldn't class her as a heavy wetter and even before then we had to boost her HO so I sold it on, also we have got a puddlekins silent night which is lovely and worked well but it was very wet in the morning so I doubt it will be enough for you :(
I think Wildchild would be about the same as bedbugs for you due to the MF content. I have a Tykies night nappy being made so will let you know how I get on with that, what about GM night nappy?? xx

We're having troubles with our HONN too atm. The one she had one last night came off absolutely drenched :( I could cry - they WERE perfect

We've found the new style WNNN really good - I suspect they might need a small amount of boosting in the pocket, but I think there's enough room in there to cope with it without distorting the shape. They also do up tight around the legs - they certainly fit around Bella's legs well enough.

TBH, what I am doing atm is boositng all her nappies to death as she is mega-wetting again. Luckily for us, she is showing signs of being ready for PT'ing (would I be saying that if I wasn't :pregnant: :giggle: )
