night nappies for a newborn

Postby aimeet » Sun Feb 14, 2010 10:52 pm

Baby is due in April, I am stocked up for nappies but wondered whether I need to get special night nappies at the newborn stage or can I just use the ones I have already.
I have some bamboozles and regular tots bots cotton nappies. I also have a couple of mutts and wondered if there would be a preference for what to use at night. I don't really want to spend a whole load more money on a new set of night nappies, any suggestions as to what I should try?
Cheers
Aimee :pregnant:

i wouldnt bother as they dont really sleep at night newborn :giggle: Izzy didnt go longer than 4/5 hours at a time till about 3 months. Also they poo loads too so you have loads of changes anyway i would save your money. My bamboozles were our first night nappy and lasted til 5 months i think before i needed more specific night nappies

Iris went into specific night nappies at 12 weeks old. She's never poo'd overnight, even as a newborn. Once she was about 3 months old, I stopped changing her overnight. Before that I used to, so day nappies were fine as she wasn't really in them for very long. From being 12 weeks old, we used Baby Beehinds (boosted) as a night nappy with the most success.

I used bamboo little lambs overnight for Dexter and unless he was soaking wet I didn't change during the night but I did use wool overnight from birth.

I've got a couple of specific night nappies, but won't be using them until Sproglet is a few months old. I'll just use his day nappies until then and boost them. I don't intend to change him overnight unless he poos or is really wet.

same here, i don't intend to change much unless he is really wet or dirty. i figure he'll be up enough bf'ing for me to change if need be, got oodles of nappies here and still think i can get away with a boosted day nappy for overnight, if bf'ing i noticed with mr T that he didn't wee much ever really so didn't need proper night nappies till he was bottle fed and taking oodles more. it probably is different for other children, this is just my experience i am speaking of.x
