i think i might have to give up :(

Postby clairelou88 » Tue Mar 02, 2010 8:41 am

Were having major problems with alister being such a heavy wetter over night. he outpees his WNNN within 3-4hours, its literally sopping and i end up changing him through the night.
im not sure what else to do, ive boosted and boosted and still no different!

Also was wondering if anyone else had this problem- when alister wakes at night(only waking recenttly) his nappy is nearly at his ankles! he seems to wriggle it off, and its not too big either!

hmmmm not sure what to suggest flower. i know the lls nappy i tried last night was the best fitting nappy i have used in a long time, there was no way that one was going anywhere, we get some leg gape with WNNN, none with Hollow Oak Night Nappies, a pretty good fit with Flutterby Fluff Night Nappies and bedbugs, Wild Child Night Nappies were rubbish imo, puddlekins night nappies are good but sold mine as it came way too girly  . i take it u have tried most of the above? also i wonder if changing him b4 u go bed might help? Taliesin goes 12 hours in his night nappies, but if ur lo goes bed say 8pm (we don't get to bed till midnight and gone here) might be worth changing him again b4 u go sleep depending on what time u go. i'd lend u a night nappy to try, but i reckon u have tried all the ones i own flower.x

Definitely ask ems, she might be able to customise the absorbency for you - I know she's doing that for Tanya atm.

Definiely talk to Ems. I'm so looking forward to receiving our night nappy as it's being tailored just for us. If it works well, we are going to get another.

Bella can easily outpee WeeNotions Night Notions, Hollow Oak Night Nappies, Flutterby Fluffs etc, but isn't bothered by sleeping in soggy bedlothes/woolies, so we don't change her at night  just strip everything in the morning and change the bed linen.

I found that fit made a big difference to how well a nappy works. The HONNs are probably the ones we have to boost the most but, because the fit is good around the legs and waist, it doesn't leak anywhere near as badly as the WNNN, which is actually far more absorbant without boosting. Even boosting the WNNN made little difference as the fit became really bad. I'm gonna sell the other two WNNN I have when I get the Puddlekins and use the funds to get more PK.

I have the above Puddlekins night nappy and it is really good and fits Findlay very nicely (I'd love an adjustable rise on it though) although it is absolutely dripping by morning even under flonglies. I'm going to speak to Ems about getting a super absorbant night nappy made up for him with his super weeing as I have been very impressed with my PK so far :wine:

The only two night nappies I have found so far that cope are the PK and a Wild Child with all microfibre changed to bamboo/hemp with an extra hemp insert (although the fit is diabolical as he's far too little for the nappy :giggle: )

Are you only looking at posh night nappies? Minki standard fleece pockets are pretty much bombproof. If you're on the verge going for sposies maybe you need something a little less fancy.
