Really need help with inserts

It is me again. I have some weenotions night nappies on order and am so hoping that they will do the trick and get William through the whole night asleep but what do I need to do until then? I had to change him twice last night!

Is it hemp that I need to absorb lots of wee? I know I need not too much microfibre but thats where I start getting confused. Not sure why he has suddenly become such a heavy wetter as never had this probem until a month or so ago.

Please can you tell me the best combinations for heavy wetters and what I need to do. I so need a full nights sleep.

Thank you everyone in advance.

Hi Victoria - as my rule, I have the top layer of microfleece to sup up the wee quickly and then as many layers of hemp underneath as possible as it takes longer to absorb but absorbs much more and is much slimmer.

What nappies are you using overnight at the mo?

Hi Sadie,

I use pockets, mostly BlueBerrys but also Funky Nappies and HH. But have also boosted MEOS and Tots Bots. I think I am not boosting enough with hemp. Which hemp inserts would you recommend and where can I get some quickly? I only have 3 and can't think where I got them from now tbh.

Will I need to boost the NN when I get them?

Thanks

The night notions should do pretty well without boosting, if you need to boost it pehaps just an extra hemp insert.

I always found when Charlotte was really really wetting that I would add 2 or 3 hemp boosters from Easy Peasy (highly recommend them but they can be slow to despatch I think) with the top one wrapped in a microfibre cloth or a top layer of bamboo. Hemp is very absorbent and slim but is pretty slow to absorb so you just want something on top to absorb quickly like mf or bamboo or cotton.

Can you try boosting in areas where they are most likely to be needed - at the front perhaps for a boy so that it catches it straight away?

Hi Victoria - If William is a heavy wetter I would suggest using a 2 part nappy rather than one of your pockets as they might gape at the legs if you have to use lots of stuffing. Ive used boosted Little Lambs before which are very similar to your Tots Bots, and boosted inside and outside of the nappy. So, inside I would use a giant fleece liner that covers all of the inside of the nappy (if you dont have one, you could cut one up yourself from an old fleece blanket), put a mf insert under this inside the nappy, then put the nappy on. Then I would put as many layers of hemp as possible underneath, at closer to the front where he wees, and secure it with a good close fastening wrap. Wool wraps could help as they help to evaporate the wee a little bit and I find when Im using wool the nappy isnt as soggy in the morning.

Hemp inserts - as they have to be washed about 10 times before they reach their full absorbancy, you would be best trying to get a few 2nd hand so you could use them quickly - try posting a wanted ad on here, they arent easy to come by though. Easy peasy hemp boosters are fantastic and only £2 each, but they can take ages to get here, otherwise Green Acre Design Hemp are good from Babykind.co.uk, Ellas House Hemp from TwinkleontheWeb.com and Ive heard good things about Hemp Babies Bigger Weed Hemp too from WizzysWorld.com (where you get free postage). Ive had good fast delivery from all 3 of these suppliers.

I never had to boost my night notions with anything more than what came with it - fc this will solve your problems.

Thank you. Will go and post a wanted now just in case someone has any spare. Will tonight try a Tots bots with MF insert and 3 hemp boosters between it and the wrap (ME Airflow).

What would I do with out CNT?

THanks

Just saw a reply on Cloth Tots by a lady who has 9 Easy Peasy Hemp spare - she is replying to another lady who is looking for some, but might be worth contacting her - she is nappynewbie on here, her name is Anna, you could try sending her a pm?
