Adding extra boosters in longies

Postby moonfruit » Thu Sep 11, 2008 1:42 pm

Hi everyone

Now the weather is starting to get colder my toddlers are going to be in their longies, but I'm not sure how to pad out the nappy. Normally I put a couple of hemp boosters in between the nappy and wrap. Can I do this will longies? Sorry if this is a stupid question

Thanks in advance, Lisa

When Im using longies I boost inside the nappy rather than outside as the longies/shorties arent as snug a fit as a wrap and the boosters wont be held in place nice and securely - you could get a soggy booster down the leg holes.

You can do it with wool wraps but I wouldn't try it with longies, as Sadie says, they move around a bit. You could try sewing a little loop on the outside of the nappy to keep it in place (there is a wahm that makes night nappies this way).

I agree with the others it's not really that easy to boost outside the nappy with longies because of their non-fitted nature.

You might actually find you don't need to boost your nappy as much using wool rather than PUL because of the extra breathability
