Inspiration needed

I want to knit a baby blanket for my sister who is due in May.

I've looked on ravelry but nothing has inspired me, does anyone have anything on either their favourites or queue which might get my needles twitching? Happy for crochet patterns too.

I love the granny stripe or ripple crochet patterns if you want something multi-coloured. I did a lovely cabled owl one too in a plain colour, that was knitted. I can find a link if you like the sound of it

I'm loving making my ripple blanket and would be quite quick an easy in a baby size (mine is sofa throw / single bed size)

I did this one for Lola (well it started out for RIley and took me too long)

I love the ripple blankets, might make one to use up some scraps. There is also a lovely star shaped one that I want to make, give me a second and I'll find the pattern.
