Slow cooker Chilli con carne.

Mince (you could replace with quorn or veg)
Chopped onions
Tin of chopped tomatoes
Kidney beans in chilli sauce

Put all ingredients in the slow cooker, leave for several hours, serve with rice or jacket potatoes.
This recipe takes literally 5 minutes and is a massive favourite with the whole family.

sound great! does it have to be a slow cooker? I dont have one...

You neeeeeeeeeed one I imagine you could cook it in your oven slowly on a low temp. Quick easy lazy meals for me usually involve cream cheese sause with pasta or layered potato with chicken or bacon!

I do like sausage casserole (slow cooker) & you could replace with quorn:-

Sausage, onion, tinned tomatoes, tin of butter beans, tin of baked beans, potatoes

Some of our favourite easy family meals are:

- macaroni cheese - only takes 20 mins max to prep (plus 20 mins in the oven) and it's really easy to double up so you have a dish for the freezer

- my famous spaghetti with tomato sauce, spinach and ricotta - the recipe is on the thread here: viewtopic.php?f=73&t=33800&hilit=frances+spaghetti

- soups such as leek and potato soup with toasted sandwiches - always go down well with DH and the kids

- cheesy egg and potato bake - the recpie is here: viewtopic.php?f=73&t=93084&hilit=+potato This is great with a green vegetable and some bread

- tofu and cashew stirfry - we all love marinated tofu, and it only takes 10 mins to prep veg such as onions, mushrooms, and peppers, and 10 mins to cook

I love mac and cheese and leek and pot soup but hardly ever make them! Rivival me thinks! That spaghetti recipe looks ace, good for boosting my iron too! Tell me more about how you marinade your tofu.. Mine never seems to work that well and I usually end up cornflour battering it!

Lovely ideas! Think I may need s slow cooker.. Although is it that great if I'm not going to do meat that often?
