We made this last week, it was very yummy. I have a bread recipe somewhere too.

Ingredients
2 large ripe bananas
1/2 tsp vanilla flavouring
175g butter
225g granulated sugar
275g self raising flour
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
3 eggs (beaten)
100g chocolate chips

Grease and line two 8 inch sandwich cake tins with greased greaseproof paper.

Peel the bananas and mash until smooth in a small bowl with vanilla flavouring.

Gently heat the butter and sugar in a saucepan until dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in flour and soda. Beat in eggs and mashed banana. Cool slightly. Stir in chocolate chips, and spoon into tin.

Cook at 170C/gas mark 3 for 35 mins or until skewer inserted into center of cake comes out clean.

Decorate with melted chocolate and bananas if you wish.

I just made some of this. Will let you know how it tastes when it's cooled enough to eat! (If I can wait that long!) :giggle:

I made this today. Its flipping lovely. Even my daughter liked it and she hates bananas. I did have to put it back in the oven for a bit longer tho as it was all soft and squigy in the middle still (my oven is rubbish tho). Xx

DH made it today and it was lovely :wine:

But it is driving him mad so he has asked me to post asking why all the choc chips fell to the bottom? what did he do wrong?

Mine did that too....frankly it tasted so good anyway, I didn't care! :giggle: I did wonder if it was because I didn't let it cool enough before adding the chips, though.
