Cooking with coke?

I've seen a few beef recipes recently which use coke in the ingredients. Anyone used it before? I would like to hear that it turns out nicely before I pour it all over a big piece of meat.

I havent but there are many recipes from Southern USA that use coke for basting. It makes a nice sweet sauce.

i have a cook book that uses coke, but like Amanda says is an american one

Ooooh yum. I LOVE that Nigella ham in coke recipe. We have it for Boxing Day dinner every year. Fab with her sweetcorn pudding recipe. I'm hungry now.....

It'll be sweeter than usual but still nice. Great with BBQ meats etc. (Think TGIF Jack daniels sauce) Coca Cola cake is yummy too

I've already ordered all my meat for the next few weeks so wont be able to try the gammon one for a while but I like the idea of a meal similar to TGI's! Mmmmm jack danials wings!!

Oh YAY you! I even have some jack left over from Christmas!

I wonder if I could use the sauce to make pulled pork in the slow cooker?
