Heavy wetter

Atm we boost all our fitteds but a lot last 2 hours or less.

Overnight an old style wnnn with insert folded over and 2 ep hemp is totally soaked in about 8 hours.

In his minkis we use pd, bamboo terry, 2 ep hemp or a ud trifold or big weed with the pd and terry.
They are soaked by morning and the minki the other night was wet around the legs.

Not tried wool at night yet.

Bububebe boosted last 3 to 4 hours during the day as do boosted puddlekins and greenkids with hemp and bamboo gk inserts with 2 ll boosters or 2 gk boosters!


So suggestions wanted that may last longer please!

Sorry hun I found this post a bit confusing...

From what I can make out it sounds like you may need to strip your nappies...

Getting ANY nappy to last four hours in the daytime is an achievement to be honest and I rarely ever have (except for unexpected naps) left a nappy on either of my children for longer than 3.5hrs (except at night)...

Grace's nappies are often damp round the legs in the morning and totally soaked at the front but not the back (being a front sleeper) but to be honest provided her skin is dry and the nappy hasn't full on leaked I don't consider a little dampness round the legs a big problem - even when her vest/sleepsuit/etc is damp I'm not bothered really...

I have to change most of Katie's nappies after 2.5 hours as they are saturated and that's with boosting. ATM the ones that work best for us are Dunk n Fluffs, I can usually get 3-3.5 hours out of one without boosting. Our Fluff n Stuff Heavy Wetter also lasts well too. Overnight the only nappies that work for us are FFNs. The outer is wet in the morning but not soaking like it was with other night nappies.

Oh, I know this all too well. Bella is a very heavy wetter and there are times when we are lucky to get 2 hours from her nappies.

We use Fluff n Stuffs (both heavy wetters and day-to-nights); Dunk n Fluff; Guerillafluff; Jimmy Riddles and Hollow Oaks.

Of these, I would probably need to boost the JRs and HOs to make them last over 2 hours atm.

Does he feed a lot during the day? Bella drinks an awful lot, hence the soaking nappies all the time. I think it's difficult to find a nappy to work for a small, heavy wetting baby, who still feeds/nurses a lot during the day which doesn't need a lot of boosting.

My DD is a heavy wetter. We mainly use OBV fitteds, which I find cope best. I like Jimmy Riddles, Dunk N Fluff, Holden’s Landing, Sweetiebums and our new Guerilla Fluff. I've also just got some new Hollow Oaks that have added zorb, so I'll see how they stand up. The ordinary HOs didn't seem to suit Iris and I couldn't get them to last longer than a couple of hours without boosting. Otherwise, easier to get hold of nappies that stand up quite well are Baby Beehinds and WNNL.

I'd definitely try switching to wool overnight. They allow evaporation, so night nappies definitely seem last damp come morning.

One other thing I've just thought of, are you boosting along the length of his nappies or specifically in the wet zone? A little creative folding can make nappies last longer. For example, a DNF comes with a fold in two and a lay-in booster. I fold the lay-in booster in half and pop that in Iris' wet zone, then fold the bottom layer of the fold in two booster in half, so that's in her wetzone, too. And the top layer of the fold in two booster is put over the whole lot to stop it moving about. It means that there are 10 layers in Iris' wetzone, excluding the nappy itself.

Good idea - you wouldn't believe how long it took me to work out that I needed to fold the boosters

I've stripped them recently.
Our Hollow Oak lasted less than an hour yesterday!
JR don't last much longer and I'm changing DnF about every 2.5 hours with boosting. I'll play about with the folding tho!
Night nappies/inserts are saturated all over
a WNNL with a puddlekins booster will last about 2.5 hours and bedbugs about 3 if we're lucky.

I'll have a try of different folding etc and see.
not tried guerilla fluff or fluff n stuff yet!

I have only tried it once and Kieren isnt a heavy wetter really but his new (not pre-washed) dunk n fluff lasted 4 hours without really feeling much more than damp on the outside! I normally change him every 3 hours max during the day but was testing this nappy...I think it would have lasted longer if i had let it and possible overnight with boosting

Do you mean they leak after a couple of hours or just that the nappies are very wet? What wraps are you using?
