Fleece lined newborn nappies and meconium

Can anyone tell me what I should do re meconium in our fleece lined newborn nappies? Most of them are not fleece lined ie they are terries or quickflips but some of them are ie xs Fuzzi's, I was intending to use fleece liners that could be washed separately and therefore if irrevocably stained chucked out ( bad carbon karma i know but still...) any thoughts, I guess if they stain they stain but stained nappies make me sad

I am such a geek

Do they work with meconium? I will give it a go, just couldn't imagine meconium sticking to paper very successfully. I'll pack a roll just in case, thanks.

Knowing our luck, after all this planning, they'll be wisked off to SCBU where their bottoms will necessarily be papered! Previously head-down and engaged baby is bum down now and there are marginal issues with the higher up babies' placenta :( I don't want a cold section but if they need to be whisked out that's what they need. Its just so ironic that they have cooked for so long and now this which increases their chances of a sojourn in SCBU.

Fingers and toes crossed for them anyway.

everything crossed. fleece seemed to be fine as they don't have black stains on them now, or even back then i think  - perhaps the worst one was stained until next wash, but it was fine.

everything crossed for your beans

Turn around little beans!!! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you :)

I would think the paper would work fine, especially if you use the thicker ones. They should keep the poo off the fleece - and as the meconium is very thick I don't think much would pass through the paper.

I used nappies with lots of different inners from birth on Amelie, and I think the whole Meconium staining things is a big myth!!!! I found no difference between that and other poo :D So I would say do what you would normally do, and don't worry about it :D

Thanks for your positve thoughts, I can't believe they are still wriggling about in there (although I can given how lopsided I go periodically). Fingers crossed they will be ok, it doesn't matter how they come out just I am desperate to come home with them asap
