we've bought most of our nappies preloved and i was advised (by a nappy advisor) to wash them at 60 before using them, to get rid of nasties!

One wash at 60 with a scoop of napisan and tiny bit of washing powder.

Then go in with the next wash once (unused) at 40 degrees, then dry and use.

I usually just do my bamboo ones at 40 degrees, this gets them perfectly clean. A quick tumble dry once in a while gets them fluffy again as well.

tea tree is naturally antibacterial. Either a couple of drops in wash, or put nappies in a bag with a few drops on a wipe, or cloth and leave for a day should help sanitise them before washing.
