I'm thinking about doing this, can't be doing with white nappies Can I just use Dylon Machine Dye, or do I need to do anything special? And could I wash them in my usual nappy wash. I was thinking of a sort of a yellow or pink, would like to do a purple colour but thought that might run more?
I know Nic has dyed a few nappies with Dylon machine dye and they turned out really good, hot pink. I think once the dye is fixed they can all be washed together but you might want to do a few on their own to make sure.
Ive hand dyed quite a few 'ready made' nappies - some dye better than others. Motherease dye very nicely, tots a bit patchy, bamboo is lovely to dye, but you need to check the backing material as it can end up staying white.
MEOS dye beautifully - if you tie dye, remember to check you have it facing outwards - I was so used to doing nippa nappies which had no back/front that I ended up with beautiful dyeing inside my MEOS, and a white nappy with a small blue streak on the outside
