Onelife nappies

Postby Cocobelle » Tue Sep 27, 2011 11:52 am

Hi

I have been given some onelife nappies with inserts and wraps. I don't know anything about them and I am useless at telling one kind of fabric from another. Are they cotton? I'm not keen on the nappies but thought maybe I could use the inserts with other nappies? Would they add much in the way of absorbency?

Thanks. Hope I've posted this in the right place!

Yes, they're cotton and will be ok as boosters. Not as great as bamboo or hemp (although personally I'd use them over hemp) for absorbency, but I'd use them. Any other questions feel free to give me a shout, I used to sell them!

Hi and thanks for the info.

Why would you use them over hemp? I'm new to all this so am still learning about the materials.

The nappies themselves loom very thin and I'm just not sure how well they'd perform. I guess I should try them! But I was thinking of selling them.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I dislike hemp immensely, I found it stiffened over time and held smells really badly, but it's personal choice. I used Motherease and Onelife on my children for several years, before finding the gorgeous handmade nappies.

I haven't used hemp yet, but I just bought some hemp booster so I'll see how I get on with them.

I'm using motherease sandys around the house at the moment. They were also given to me and I find them ok. They always seem soaked after an hour or two and the wraps leave red marks, but they don't leak.

I think I'll try one of the onelife nappies.

Thanks. x

Definitely be sure to use a booster in your Onelife, even 2, depending on how old and how much of a heavy wetter your child is. We used Airflow covers for years, didn't like the velcro (Rikki) wraps though. We converted to wool eventually though, a far nicer cover. Again it's personal choice.

I liked hemp, all our old inserts are still soft.
SAndys are great if it is the bamboo ones you have x
