I have been given some onelife nappies with inserts and wraps. I don't know anything about them and I am useless at telling one kind of fabric from another. Are they cotton? I'm not keen on the nappies but thought maybe I could use the inserts with other nappies? Would they add much in the way of absorbency?
Yes, they're cotton and will be ok as boosters. Not as great as bamboo or hemp (although personally I'd use them over hemp) for absorbency, but I'd use them. Any other questions feel free to give me a shout, I used to sell them!
I dislike hemp immensely, I found it stiffened over time and held smells really badly, but it's personal choice. I used Motherease and Onelife on my children for several years, before finding the gorgeous handmade nappies.
I haven't used hemp yet, but I just bought some hemp booster so I'll see how I get on with them.
I'm using motherease sandys around the house at the moment. They were also given to me and I find them ok. They always seem soaked after an hour or two and the wraps leave red marks, but they don't leak.
Definitely be sure to use a booster in your Onelife, even 2, depending on how old and how much of a heavy wetter your child is. We used Airflow covers for years, didn't like the velcro (Rikki) wraps though. We converted to wool eventually though, a far nicer cover. Again it's personal choice.
