Monkey snuggles sizing

I have 3 old style ms that I bought pre-loved. I really like them, they work really well for us at night and are super cute, but they just seem very low on the rise and I struggle a bit to get them round her chubby legs! Any ideas on how the new style compare? Are they a little more generous? Also, how does the xl compare? I know the weight guide is 35+ lb but has anyone tried them with a lighter lo? How does the rise compare with the os?

Any help much appreciated as I got carried away with the custom slots and ordered 2 xl's but I'm now worrying they're going to be too big (DD2 is 20 months, chunky thighed but only 25lbs, is it going to drown her?)

I have only ever tried the XL MSNN on my fairly chunky, tall 3.5y/o. The rise was good although not quite as high as Made by Amber XL or HLBB junior. There was lots of room across the waist - the tabs still met in the middle! Isaac has generous thighs and they fitted around his legs well.
