Has anyone read the "Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter" books by Laurel K. Hamilton? There are about 12-14 in the series so far and I've read up till about book 10. I have to say I REALLY enjoyed the earlier books - great characters, good story - but I feel the latter ones have been let with the amount of sex in the book. Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with sex in a book but when an author, who can write well and not have to rely on sex to sell a book, moves the focus to this rather than developing the story and the characters, its a real shame.
Another supernatural series that I have enjoyed is by Kelley Armstrong: "Bitten" and "Stolen" to name a few. They are mostly centred around werewolves but include all sorts of supernatural beings. They are great fun to read and I wholly recommend them
Not read the Twilight books but have watched the films and found them ok. There seems to be a glut of vampire books on the market at the mo and there is a lot of dross in amongst the gems.
