Non month specific book recommendation

Bit of a side bit of the book club but I wanted to recommend this book to everyone and it's not exactly a good 'monthly read' type book

I recommend this book to ALL parents of babies of all ages...

For those with young babies it's good to read to prepare you for later and lay the groundwork now before you slip into cliche'd ways...
For those with toddlers and preschoolers it is good to read because so much rings true - it helped me when Isabelle was younger than two for example...
For those with older children - a MUST read to make life more comfortable for all parties!

How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish

I would love to discuss this book with anyone who is interested

I'm re-reading it and already I'm only on chapter two entitled 'engaging cooperation' and it is reminding me of some basics I need to remember which I had forgotten...

It's definatly a book to buy not borrow as if you borrow it you'll end up buying it anyway as it's one to keep and re-read regularly

Like the sound of that, may well buy that when next in town Steph.

That book looks fantastic, have just ordered myself copy as it sounds just what I need before Tash and I really fall out . Will let you know what I think once I have read it.

I think I'll try and grab this from amazon or ebay. Having problems with Rhys just not listening at the minute and I sometimes get to the point where the only thing I know how to do is shout .

I think I'll try to find a copy too - there is too much shouting going on in this house and not enough listening even Mr CM had a go about it to me and the kids the other day (and he can shout a lot when he gets going ).

Ordered last night from Amazon and ordered the one about brothers and sisters too

I am off to dig out my copy from underneath the bed. We have had a better day today just from me being a bit firmer (but calmer) with Martha. I first read the book like you when she was under two, I found a lot of the techniques helpful but I suspect it will be even more pertinent now......
