Help! leakage problems

DD is now 16 months and has been walking properly for about 3 weeks, but cruising for at least 4 months

We have had some leakage problems of late, and they don't seem to be always when the nappy is at the end of its wear time (I change her every 3 hours but sometimes it's nearer 4)

It's got to the stage when every night that I pick her up from the childminder she is in different clothes from when I left her - today she got through 2 pairs of tights!! CHildminder thinks that it is cos she is waking around more but she's been on the move for ages. Also not sure childminder always chenges her as often as I would

The culprit seems to be any attractive nappy (we have one Berry Plush and an Itti Bitti) but recently my faithful fuzzis are leakng - I stuff them with a Hemp shaped insert and a fuzzi microfibre one. She is still on the smallest setting of the poppers, couldit be the fit? Should I give up and just buy more Pop- Ins? (Super reliabel for us at the mo)

So far the BGs are holding up. She has shot up a bit recently and doesn't fit her medium HHs anymore altho the problem is more in the rise

Any thoughts/ suggestions gratefully received, even if it means buying some more nappies :hohoho:

Any thoughts gratefully received

I find that we get wicking easily with any nappy if Kayleigh is wearing tights. Maybe leg warmers or baby legs are an option.
We tried an itti bitti once, and we would need I think an extra 2 pop ins.
We find our BG's the most reliable, but the next fav. is the lil stinkies (I'd go for minki in preference to cotton for a heavy wetter) http://www.lilstinkies.com/shop/index.php, and then BBOS. We just have to make sure we have enough hemp in the nappy. Kayleigh's Econappie (Swaddlebees) is very good as well, but we need an extra hemp insert in it.

Can't really add much to what Rae's said - if you've got a power wee-er then itti bittis and berry plush's aren't really suitable especially not under tights - I always had to change Isabelle more frequently if she was wearing those - and I had to buy the extra booster for the itti bitti and boost the berry plush (and it still leaked! - I ended up using it as a wrap in the end for fitteds...)
And yes like Rae said tights only seemed to exacerbate any leakage problems - babylegs (US made product) or hugalugs (Aus made product) were the way to go for us too...

Also unless she was in bumgenius or similar poly outer nappies I found most nappies had to be changed after 3 hours if she was drinking lots... And I had to be pretty strict with the nursery to change her more frequently too...

Thanks ladies, especially for the tip about tights - hadn't occurred to me at all. Also we are back in vests for the winter and that has coincided with the leakage so might be a bit of wicking there. And I have veered towards the bamboo rather than hemp so will have to think about veering back maybe

Good old BGs tho eh? Pity about the boring colours (altho aren't they bringing out some new ones?) And I have been looking at that website as I have some funds in paypal (shhhh......)

Thanks again

Combination of bamboo and hemp is very good so you don't have to ditch the bamboo!
You could just go up a size in vests or go for ordinary (i.e. don't popper under the crotch) vests...

The vests might be your problem compressing the nappy and that combined with the bamboo which tends to be a bit squishy. I would give poppered vests a miss if I were you.

Hope you get it sorted and can use pretty nappies again. Yes BG's are releasing more colours but they seem to be as boring as their old ones!
