Liners help!

Postby mookie » Thu Jul 26, 2012 9:37 am

Hi I'm new here!

I bought some pocket nappies and they arrived yesterday. I washed and dried them, put one on my daughter and I love them :yahoo: I also bought some liners, they are large and completely cover the inside of the nappy, however the liner seems to disappear up the back of the nappy and bunch into a ball, meaning I ended up with my new nappy covered in poop

Please help!! What am I doing wrong??

:yahoo: for you loving your new cloth!

Are they disposable liners?
Because they do tend to wriggle about.

Try fleece liners - much easier!

Although tbh we only use liners overnight for Eleanor. She's not bothered by us not using them.

Hi!

Yes they are disposable. In all honesty I have no idea what I'm doing and got very confused by all the info out there.

I adore the idea of reusable nappies but wasn't brave enough to try them until now. I'd be over the moon if I could pick your brain!

My daughters 9 months old and I've bought pocket nappies.

How do I use the fleece liners?
How often do I change the nappy?
Do I change the whole nappy or just the insert?
What do I do for using them at night? Put two pads in?

I'm really sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure I'm doing this right

Thank you  xxx

 we were all confussed once you'll be a pro in no time.
Fleece liners are fab as they feel dry to the touch you can get them most places and some people even buy cheap fleece blankets and cut up. To get mess off just stretch over the toilet and most should fall off I flush any extra off but some don't. after a a few washed one side will be a little bobblier and this the side you want facing up.
I change every 3 hours generally but sometimes longer if we're out.
Pockets you nee to change the whole lot AI2 or All in two can just have the insert changed. AI2 inserts lay on top of the nappy and aren't tucked in. But some people don't get on with them a you can't adjust the aborbancy as much.
For night you can get specialise night nappies but they are just a more absorbant version so you could put more boosters in but make sure that it's not over boosted a this can effect fit.

This doesn't happen to mine-i use little lambs make over a fleece liner to totally eliminate the chance of stains! As they are so large I cut them length wise in half-maybe this could help. The ones I use can also go in the wash a few times too. I put the paper liner over the fleece hour glass liner for every nappy, night or day and change both everytime I need to and replace with a new set x

:x So my daughter decided to fill her nappy (I'd only just changed her) and I didn't hear her go and couldn't smell her :x I only knew she had because her poop had burst out the sides and wet her leggings  The liner caught half of it but the rest covered the inside and outside of her nappy :x If only I could stop my daughter from pooping the nappies would be perfect

Paper liners never worked for us either, but i second LL liners, really lovely and soft and dry feeling against the skin. We use pockets on our 2.5yr old, and use a Bum genius large insert and a LL bamboo booster to get about 3hrs our of them. We use sposies over night as the im not sure a pocket would last and i don thave the patience or money to figure out what would work for us over night. It took 2yrs to get her to sleep through the night, so im not rocking the boat now!!
