muslin squares for stuffing?

Postby winniewheresmypooh » Wed Jul 15, 2009 10:34 am

How good are they when used with a MF insert. is it worth doing as a cheap option or more hassle then it is worth?

I wouldn't have thought it would be very absorbent, mf soaks up wee quickly but it also squishes it out so you need something more absorbent like hemp or bamboo underneath which is slower to absorb but holds more (some one please correct me if I'm wrong!!) THe muslin might work ontop of hemp/bamboo, if I'm running short I sometimes use a mf dish cloth!! :giggle:

They're pretty good at mopping up sick here but I wash them with the nappies so there's no fabric softner on them, and I don't iron them either so they're more absorbent...
They'd probably be ok for stuffing for Grace if I used a couple as she's changed from being a heavy wetter back to being a light wetter but I've got much better inserts which do the job - besides we need them as dribble cloths ;)

I wouldn't have thought they would have worked too well for stuffing, but Ben would think it was disrespectful to use his 'muzzy' for something other than cuddling, chewing and just loving!

Hiya,

Sometimes I stuff a Happy Heiny with a muslin cloth and top with a MF insert, and it is OK for maybe 2-3 hours. My LO is not a very heavy wetter though.

My first was, well, lets say a HEAVY sicker and we needed a bath towel on occasion!
Lucas is no where near that bad. Most days he isn't really sick at all so a muslin would be fine! :giggle:
