I believe its just the inserts you get with them, v2 its just the long poppered microfibre one, v3 you get the long poppered microfibre one as well as a newborn insert

Here's the blurb from BG about the differences between the two
SO WHATS NEW....

*Redesigned stretchy tabs!* We redesigned the stretchy tabs for a
sleeker, trimmer look while maintaining our award winning snug,
comfortable fit. The material and construction is also improved to
prevent pilling and wicking.

*Wider slot!* The resdesigned tabs allowed us to widen the slot opening
at the back of the diaper. The wider slot makes it easier to
stuff/unstuff the insert and dad's can't complain their hands are too big.

*New Insert Stopper!* Our unique waterproof insert stopper prevents
prevents front dampness if the diaper rolls outward. It also makes for
easier stuffing since customers don't have to be so careful about not
stuffing the insert too far to the front of the diaper.

*Return of the extra-small!* The rise of the diaper can be shortened by
folding down the insert stopper over the front of the diaper. This makes
an even better fit on newborn babies without adding extra bulk between
their legs.

*Bundled with newborn insert!* The bumGenius one-size cloth diaper is
one-size off the shelf. In addition to the regular insert, we
are include a newborn insert/booster with all version 3.0 diapers. The
newborn insert is designed to reduce bulk for small babies. When the
baby outgrows the newborn insert, it works great as an overnight booster
or extra absorbancy for a heavy wetter.

*Grippier hook and loop!* We upgraded the tabs for tighter grip so the
diaper stays put once you put it on.

i was always trying to work this out then i saw a v2 and v3 together and the difference is small but obvious; the v3 has the insert stopper thing at the top, if you compare it to the v2 the version 2 is white fleece all the way to the top where as the v3 has a bit of the coloured outer fabric along the top to stop the insert riding up which i think can cause leaks, thats the only thing that i can actually see, apart from the inserts, the other differences i can never notice, these being; supposedly v3 fits better around the legs and the stretchy bit that you do up on to the velcro is meant to be better. the v3 comes with a small and large insert. Tiny differences which i bet wont make much difference obviously apart from the bit along the top and the liners. shame they didnt add anymore designs to the fabric though  although i dont know myself yet but the 'differences' always make me giggle

I have V2s, my friend has V2s and V3s.
Her V3s look nicer inside (the fleece bit) than my V2s and she says that they feel nicer to stuff too because the waterproof bit inside is nicer on the V3.
