I am not really that impressed, sorry but I though it would be something much spectacular than this, some prints would have been nice, and to me it seems they just keep making a few changes here and there and this is just a marketing ploy to get us excited and feel we have to buy the nappies. I have tried bgv3 and I have tried many other nappies, and to me theres nothing that makes them particularly special, and has any one thought how big and dominating the BG are in the cloth nappy market, lets not forget the core reason many use fluff is becase we belive in the ethics of it, isnt supporting whams much kinder.

:x :x :x just wanted to get that off my chest

Alemum, I totally agree with you. I fell for the marketing ploy, sat there with my Facebook account open, watched the YouTube video, while thinking to myself the entire time that I was falling for the hype. They are very clever, making nappies like iPhones, getting people all excited for something so... dull. And ethically, isn't the point of cloth nappying to reduce waste and consumption? By continually introducing new versions, they are getting people to buy new ones and fall into a consumerist trap.

That being said, I have one BG v3 which I love but is getting too small for my little girl. It really does work well. So, like the rest of the masses I just ordered a couple of the new ones (we're going to the US next week, so they will be shipped to my mother's house there) because they are bigger. All the while thinking that if I were really serious about reducing our impact on the earth I would be using our old fitteds, or terries. Sigh.

.... I think I need a ticker that says 'x number of nappies saved from landfill' and one that says 'x amount of money spent on nappies since becoming an addict'

I totally agree with this, the 'improvements' they make really arent that huge, and if they are going to be adding prints soon why couldnt they have done this with the new v4's, it's purely so we spend our money on the new ones then they'll say "oh and here's a lovely new spectacular print that you should have, look how shiny and new and fantastic it is, and it's all yours for only £14.99" I do feel myself being dragged towards them, I mean I came on here to look for a thread about the new ones with no intention of buying a 'new new' v4 but then thinking I could try one for only how ever much they are/will be, but I get like that with any new type of nappy and then go searching for 2nd hand :giggle:
Part of me thinks it's great a cloth nappy company is getting bigger and more commericial and available but the other part says that I enjoy escaping all that, maybe I enjoy hating commercialism :giggle: I have no problem with that though
