GREENKIDS on a toddler?

Postby clothpenguin » Thu May 01, 2008 8:09 pm

Can anyone tell me how these stand up to heavy wetters/larger/taller children. Imogen can out pee a bumgenuis already, greenkids are not cheap and I don't want to regret them. Its hard to make decisions on BTP, I have two greenkids that I love and they are really absorbant with the bamboo inserts, any thoughts anyone?

Are you just using the microfibre insert in the BG? If you are then you need to get some hemp boosters eg easy peasy ones to make them last longer.
Sadie has sold on Evie's GK as she has outgrown them in the rise (at 18-19 months). However the GK seem to have a pretty good second hand value, so if you get a year out of them and can sell them on ........

Charlotte is now 2 and her Green Kids still fit fine and last her well, in fact we recently bought a couple of minkytimes as they are so lovely. We like them alot.

Charlotte is quite chunky at about 32lbs and is quite a bit taller than most of her friends.

Good point about resale value, the difficulty is that I cry when I think about selling any of their tiny nappies so its hard to make cash back...despite our incredible luck in having our two beautiful babies, we are still hopeful that one day we might have more and its rather holding back the resale of the sized nappies I bought. I am such a donut!

Thanks for your thoughts, I have some easy peasy hemp for nights and some more on the way so its a good idea to boost the BG's, just that as she currently only weighs 9lb 9oz, you can imagine how HUMOUNGOUS a boosted nappy looks on her. She looks like Winnie the Pooh in her night nappies its hilarious.

I did sell all of Evies Greenkids because they became quite short on the rise on her - especially the Anytimes which I used for night nappies and had an extra booster in them. Evie is very tall and slim, 97th centile for height, 50th for weight, very long in the body, and because these arent a high rise nappy I started to find them drooping off her in the morning. The funtimes did get to a stage where they were wicking after a couple of hours so not great for heavy wetters. The Anytimes were brilliant nappies, very very reliable, I cant remember them wicking or leaking once, and we used them for our night nappies for a good while. Perhaps if Evie wasnt as tall or a bit chunkier they would have been a better fit.

My dd is nearly 20months and is around 25lb. SHe is about 75th centile for height and weight. I have to say that greenkids are our favourite nappy at the moment and have been for the last few months. I now own 5anytimes and 3 funtimes with 2 more on their way. The fit is great althought i only started using them when she was about 11months and 19lb. I think ours will definatley do til potty training as they have loads of room left for growing.

The bamboo inserts are the best ive found anywhere too.
