Accidently washed flip insert in conditioner

Postby Mum-to-2 » Mon Jun 20, 2011 10:11 am

Hi I'm pretty new to cloth nappies my son is 5 weeks old any way I know conditioner is bad for nappies so I've been washing them separately.

Last night I found that one of my flip insert had sneaked in to a regular wash. Is this ruined or will it be ok as it was only once?

Thank you for your help in advance x

It will be fine just wash it a couple of times with the nappies before you use it again.

it will be fine. I some times added the teeniest drop of conditioner to a wash every now and again to make nappies extra soft and they were all fine x

Oops! It happens to us all at some point I guess

The advice given so far is great- just wash it with your nappy load a few more times before using it again.

You could try and add a tablespoon of white vinegar in your fabric softner drawer of the nappy wash. This willl help keep your nappies soft and cuts through any detergent left on by previous washes. I live in a hard water area so this is essential to avoid crunchy nappies!

You do need to use white vinegar though (can get a 1/2 litre bottle from asda for less than 60p) the malt vinegar you use on your chips is no good :D
Using a splash of white vinegar does not make your nappies smell of chips either lol

Hope that helps
