When I wash all my nappies and inserts I end up with a big pile, and no idea which insert/booster went with which nappy shell, does this really matter?

Not really no unless you have shaped inserts/boosters that will only suit one style.
All my same label inserts with no code/batch number on them just (like the blueberrys) just go in whichever nappy.
I am slightly anal about my Itti inserts though..I like the inserts to match the batch number on the outer and am really cross when I buy one new/preloved and the insert batch numbers dont match!!

It doesn't really matter, but most of them have a label or distinctive shape so are easy to tell apart. If it matters to you you can always sew a coloured thread to match the outer of the nappy it goes with.

hahah yes! Under the main tags they have little labels with numbers on and I check them and match them up every time I wash except I have two that wont match as they came with mismatched numbers when I bought them *eye twitch* Im tempted to sell them on so I dont have to deal with their mismatched numbers anymore

If the insert fits the nappy, it works for me!

Babe I love you! I've been in a quandary as have just got into ittis and have a mix of new/preloved inserts that I've been scratching my head about distinguishing from one another! Was about to take a permanent marker to them!
