Pips has asked to try sprouts, i haven't eaten them since i left home and hated them can remember them being boiled for hours. Whats the best way to cook them, how long for??

Get the smaller ones, just cut off the dry end and take off the outermost manky leaves. I don't cut a cross in the bottom of mine as it makes them too soggy. Boil for 7 mins or a bit longer if they are bigger. I like mine with a bit of bite not mushy. You can also par boil and then sauté with chopped bacon.

We do this, I just buy a handful though as the only one who likes them is DH!

I used to hate them but discovered that adding salt and sugar to the water makes them yummy. I like them more well cooked than I like most veg. Agree yummy with bacon!
