Birth-to-Potty Nappies

Birth-to-Potty (BTP), or one-size (OS) nappies are designed to be used from birth right through until your baby stops using nappies (average is around 2.5 years old). Generally they have poppers which adjust the rise of the nappy as needed, for example the way BumGenius does it. Other brands use simpler methods like folding the nappy down, like in the case of Greenkids.

These nappies are a great idea and can save you a lot of money over the time you are using cloth nappies compared to buying various sets of Sized Nappies. Most brands offer some form of one-size or birth-to-potty option.

The slight downside of them is that in reality on many newborn babies they can be bulky and they may come up small on large toddlers, this of course varies from brand to brand and some are better than others at fitting well for the duration. Many people prefer to use newborn or small Sized Nappies and then move onto buying one-sized at that point (usually around 6 months).

Like with any nappy it is always worth getting one and trying it out as some nappies are better for for some babies than others.
