Exploring the wonderful world of cloth nappies!

We started off like the textbook cloth nappy user.

Buying a kit with TB fluffles, TB plain white wraps and a bucket! And although we added a few print wraps to the stash that was it...

...until - I found CNT! :cnthug: Now I am a reality cloth nappy user, and having lots of fun experimenting

I am shortly to start a picture blog of how to make a nappy, from buying and dying the fabric, to adding the embroideries and appliques, to sewing the nappy up and (fingers crossed) it's first use! Stay tuned...

A whole, new, fluffy world.

So, a few weeks on and we have been testing out the new stash. :babyroll:

And I can report - I LOVE MY NEW FLUFF! :yahoo: Of course, I still love my old faithful TBs, but the ease of being able to grab a couple of AI1s as I run out the door has been a revelation. Especially as Meredith is eating well and dribbling less, so my bag doesn't have to contain 4 changes of clothes, 8 bibs (cloth and pelican) and a new top for me! They are also fab as she is becoming quite impatient at nappy changes now!

The itti's are great - I love the colours, and they seem to have the best balance between absorbancy and slimness. I have only been able to get away with just changing the inserts once or twice, but they fit her brilliantly and she loves stroking them as I try to get her clothes back on.

Similarly, the WN AI2s are fab, and I love the range of colours and embroiderys. I have been quite restrained, though, and the new ones I have bought haven't been too extravegant! I'm quite tempted by a special Christmas one, though! Again, she loves the softness of them, and I have gone for minky-topped boosters, so her bottom is well looked after!

It hasn't been without issue, though - my husband spent 20 minutes changing her when we went out for breakfast on Sunday morning, partly because Merry was being a monkey, and partly because the rows of poppers spooked him! He was a little traumatised, but even he agrees that not having a seperate wrap does help.

All of the Night Notions we have are plain bamboo outers, so I am hoping that will deferentiate them enough to remind him to put a wrap on those ones! They are fab, and again, fit her really well. I have found the fit of the wraps an issue, so I am searching for an alternative wrap. They are so absorbant, and surprisingly, don't take a millenia to dry! The bamboo BBH I have on the other hand - it's brill, but I have to be at home when I have it on the line - if I go out and it rains, I'll be in real trouble!

Our HL bedbugs are also fab, and the sugar peas wraps fit them brilliantly. I'd like a couple more, and then I think we should be set for nappies for a while.

I must take a few minutes a get a folder of fluff photos set up soon! :giggle:

:pregnant: In other news, a great friend is pregnant, and has asked to use some of our fluff, so they really are coming into there own!
