Litlestar's Pregnancy & Projects

I have never blogged before so bear with me!
though i am an experienced forum user :giggle:

I'm currently pregnant :pregnant: under consultant care for an underactive Thyroid, and a cloth nappy addict even before little one has arrived! :giggle:

Also I have set myself some DIY projects for my upcoming maternity leave so watch this space for washable wipes, reusable breast pads, fleece soakers, and Cloth san pro patterns and photo blogs.

Completed My First CSP **Loads of Pics**

Right Here it goes, they say a picture is a thousand words, lets hope so as i'm rubbish at describing things

First things First i Pre-washed all the fabrics (not taking no chances in shrinkage etc)
Image
Shown the the Pic is red Velour, three different designs of Flannel (which did fray in pre-wash) plain cream cotton, and fleece (not shown is my Minkee)

at this point i'd already made my liners (got impatient when my Bamboo Fleece arrived :giggle: )
Image

I laid out the material and drew as many of the patterns as I could in the fabric.

Panty liner

The rest of the pictures and instructions relate to a liner style pad - so there's no waterproof layer.

I decided that I preferred to sew my inner to an additional layer to stop it moving around, for this layer I've cut up an old 50% Cotton/50% Polyester Bed sheet.
I then sewed the inner (which is only one layer of Bamboo fleece in the liner) to the layer

I then built up the rest of the layers now I'm sewing the inside first and leaving a small hole so it can be turned inside out.
Image
the first two layers are the right way up.
the base layer is then placed on top of the first layer the wrong way up.
Image
I then pinned the fabric together at the edges ready to sew.
Image
Picture below showed the area I missed so i can turn it inside out.

I then turned it out:

I then need to remedy the hole I left
Image
This is what it looks like folded into shape

almost there
I then sew a standard stitch all the way around the edge of the pad and add the poppers.
Image

TaDa! the finished Pad!

I'm trying it out as I write this, couldn't wait!
I know i'm pregnant :pregnant: and don't currently have a period but I still have the need of a liner IYKWIM!
