My pregnancy diary

Permanent Linkby littlesez on Thu Jan 01, 2009 10:13 am

Well I am starting from now which is 33 weeks +4, due on 15th Feb. I have had a very easy time of it, no complications or issues. I am extremely grateful for this but unfortunatley it means i annoy others with my constant state of excitement and positivity about pregnancy! I have genuinely loved every minute of it and why not, its a fabulous time of life, the best yet. My hubby Rob is equally giddy, we're both really excited about our new addition and becoming parents. :pregnant:

I have enjoyed all the different stages. The first few weeks were so strange, i knew i was pregnant but it was hard to believe so didnt really sink in until the first scan. We found out we were 16 weeks so missed a bit of time there and also could tell the sex, it was now a she! Cried my eyes out when i saw my babs wriggling about and the next scan too. :babyroll:

Never had the energy boost everyone kept telling me about, nothing could ever have prepared me from the absolute exhaustion i felt from day one and ever since, found work really difficult and hated it! Im a dance teacher so used to cry at the thought of getting the energy from somewhere to go to work. I finished all classes 19th Dec for 2 week xmas break and decided I couldnt go back! So now off on my maternity leave and thinking of being a SAHM. Just can't imagine leaving her.

I am so happy to have some me and bump time, although i can't wait for her to arrive im gonna make the most of the time before the madness of motherhood starts! All I can think of now is how much I love her already and how I will try my best to be a good mum xxx

Well i am now 35 weeks + 3. Really enjoying my time off work and still loving being pregnant. Find it so fascinating all the movements i can feel. Got everything pretty much organised for her arrival and think we have decided on Isabella Rose for her name, but still going to wait for her to see what she looks like!

Having lots of anxiety surrounding the labour and parenthood, getting so close now its keeping me awake at night and even had panic attacks, very scary. I have arranged a homebirth so hopefully that will help me stay more relaxed and in control. As for being a mum i think maybe nothing can prepare me i'll just do it when the time comes. Not long now either, although i feel like she is quite comfortable and hope she stays put for at least 2 weeks so i can have my home birth. Got my birth pool and birthing ball, just need to mentally prepare now! how?

Can't wait to meet her but still feeling comfy

36 weeks + 4 today, not long now its going so fast, im not ready! Had really bad congestion which is getting me down as its keeping me awake at night. Apart from that and all the usual niggles everything is going fine. Got my 3rd antenatal class tonight and dragging hubby along again(he doesnt like going!) wont ask him to come next week as its the breast feeding workshop so he is excused!

Got most of the baby stuff ready just curtain poles to put up and the nursery is done. Cant believe this time next week i could have a baby, but suppose it could be over 5 weeks too, weird not knowing? whens she is ready she will come and thats that! Got stash of nappies now thanks to cloth nappy tree, i have

10 terry squares
10 little lambs size 1
7 wonderoos
1 bumgeniuos
1 lollipop
1 nature babies
1 upsy daisy
1 more (forgot which!)
5 little lamb wraps
1 lollipop wrap
3 motherease wraps
1 more wrap (forgot which!)

Cant wait to try them all out on Isabella x

Hi hun! I agree that the movements are just amazing :D
I think the name you have picked is just beautiful. I was thinking of Rose as a second name if ours had been a girl. Now we're having problems agreeing on a second name for our boy

Don't worry about the birth, hun, I am sure that you will do really well. Do you have any close female relatives or friends who might make you feel more calm at the birth? What about trying hypnobirthing cds? Dh and I are going on a hypnobirthing course, and are rather excited. I am such a nervous worrier that we think it'll really help us. My mum was told to listen to classical/calming music when she gets nervous/tense (she has high bp). Maybe that will help you, too? Try and think of positive things, and repeating positive affirmations to yourself about the birth. I found that I have gone from being v scared to actually looking forward to it, thanks to th idea of the homebirth etc. It may not work for everyone, but I find that reading the birth stories on the homebirth.org.uk website and finding out all I can has really changed my attitude to the birth and I feel much calmer. However, whether I still feel that closer to the time... :hohoho:

Sounds like a good stash of nappies :D I'd be interested to hear about the lls as I'm also going to be using those. Have you got aplix or nappi nippa? I meant to get nappi nippa, but forgot and got aplix instead. Oh well, I can always unpick the aplix if I don't like it.
