After spending ages online researching the vast variety of nappies,(and then presenting the results to our daughter in law to choose the ones she liked the best) The bamboo kit from Little lambs appealed the most . The whole lot ,birth to potty cost £280,that was for 40 nappies & 20 wraps + 40 fleece liners ,boosters and other extras .He is now 19 months old and the nappies and wraps are wearing well. They fit neatly and as the kit was divided into 2 sizes ,20 of each ,they will be the only nappies he will need .He went into the second size at around 10 months and they still soak up his night wees..although he needs a larger wrap at night to prevent leaks .These nappies look cute and are certainly excellent value .I also bought disana tie ons for when he was new born but these got very little use as both mum & dad liked the ease of using a washable that fastened like a disposable .
However, our youngest grandson wore the smallest cotton botttoms prefolds from birth and now wears the disana tie ons, bought for the other grandson, during the day and a terry square at night .I made a load of fleece liners which go in the wash along with the nappies so this nappy 'kit' was very economical to buy . I must add,his mum is a paediatric nurse and chose terry squares before the baby was born after seeing lots of different nappies brought onto the ward by parents for their sick babies and found the squares less likely to leak and knew they would be quicker to dry without a tumble dryer.
Personally I think the Disana tie nappies are brilliant and would certainly choose them for daytime use and probably use a small prefold as a booster inside them at night .mmmm....pleased I don't have babies 24 hours a day now ,being a grandma means I get all the hugs ,playing & pleasure without the washing & broken nights ..lol
