Lucys adventures in blw

Well 1 week in and blw seems to be going well. Last week she seemed to just play with the food rather than eating it but this week she has really got down to business. The big hit of the day was avocado and banana mashed and spread on rice cakes yuck. She must be a savoury girl (not like me) as the face she pulled when I gave her a bit of nectarine was a picture :hohoho: . We are avoiding wheat, eggs...

Living with a child with severe allergies

On April 12th 2006 we woke up excited, today Jack was 6 months old and starting weaning. I was planning on giving baby rice but I was a poor expresser due to a rubbish manual pump I now know so had no milk to mix it with. I decided to nip out and get him some rusks as these could be mixed with water into mush for him.

We had a busy day so didn't get down to feeding him till teatime ish perhaps a bit earlier. He wolfed it all down and really enjoyed it, within a few minutes though he looked very...

Luke's blw journey

Thought I would do a blog on Luke's blw journey.

SAT 21st April

Sat Luke in his bumbo and gave him half a banana to hold. He didn't make much of it at all. I help it up to his lips and he had a couple of licks before losing interest.

MON 23 April

Had a major panic about blw v puree and posted on the forum. Had lots of useful replies, key things to remember, stay calm, have patience and food just for fun at this stage.

TUE 24 April

Sat Luke on my knee while we had our tea at the dining...

Feeling lazy

I'm waiting for dh to come back after a night away visiting a work colleague/friend. I could have gone, too but didn't fancy the work-related bit (going round the lab and talking about some new things they're going to collaborate on), and didn't fancy the late night followed by being woken early by their kids. Plus, last time we left the cat overnight he pooed on the kitchen floor, despite having a clean litter tray (protest poo) ...
