Why oh why am I still awake?

I thought I was getting the hang of cloth nappy talk now, until I started browsing the classifieds! :lol: Hard to know what all the abbreviations mean, and the paypal talk (gifted? funded?). However, I will persevere. I still have some nappies to buy. Contemplating the 5 pack of MEOS and wraps, and deffo getting a bum genius or two, but not sure whether I should get the MEOS, and whether...

Lucys adventures in blw

We tried sweet potato chips for tea yesterday and :shock: wow, not one bit of mess. She ate every single one of them really quickly so I can chalk them up as another hit. I'll do her some more for lunch today as they were so quick to do, I just par boiled them for 5 minutes then shoved them in the roasting tray with a small amount of oil. I sneaked a couple in Jack's normal chips too and he ate them...

Enabling Hibernation in Ubuntu 12.04 on a Lenovo T400

In the hope that this helps someone out there do something that took way too much of my time and so that I don't forget:

1) First off make sure your swap partition is bigger than your RAM otherwise you wont have enough space to save the contents of your memory. Use gparted or whatever takes your fancy. Plenty of help on the net for this so I won't go into it.

2) Hibernation was removed from Ubuntu so you need to get it back into you shutdown menu again:

sudo nano /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla

Exciting day

This morning dh had a reply from the ecological consultancy who coincidentally started offering the same species diagnostics service as dh and I have just started up as a mini business trial. She was perfectly pleasant in her email and, as suspected, they are going to subcontract rather than do it themselves (being ecologists not geneticists). As a bonus, though, she asked whether I'd be interested in more freelance surveying, as they are always on the look-out for more freelance...
