Wool Nappy Covers - the basics

by Little Pants on Tue Jan 01, 2019 8:52 pm
So many people have asked me how wool can possibly make an efficient nappy cover, that I thought it was time to start a blog. So here goes.

How does wool work as a nappy cover?

I'll start with an explanation. Wool is absorbent, but absorbs very slowly. Because of the body heat of your baby, and the warmth of the wool, it also allows moisture to evaporate, and this happens at the same rate as it absorbs, especially if the...

Mine will be an as and when kind of blog, recording some feelings/events ect and stuff I need to focus on or sort out whilst things are so hectic in my life. Can't promise I will write anything interesting but every now and again I will try! :-)

Julian at 12 weeks

by june2007 on Thu Aug 26, 2010 3:27 pm
My DS is now around 12 weeks old. He is weRING A MIXTURE OF NAPPIES. I find that if they are two big they leak at the side, but on the whole things are ok. He is now wearing his birth to potty nappies but the squares are most reliable for not leaking at night. My DD is out of nappies altogether which is good. Magical sun power

by Sophiebeth23 on Fri Apr 11, 2014 5:33 pm
I have say I didn't believe that the sun would get the stains out of my beautiful nappies. So I conducted a very scientific experiment when I peg them on the line ones with stains I used 3 pegs. When I asked dh to go fetch the washing in he asked why I had used 3 pegs on some nappies as they all looked spotless to him. Clearly the sun bleaching is magic.

Leaky dips

by june2007 on Fri Jan 07, 2011 9:49 am
I spent xmas round my inlaws and then my parents away from home. I decided to use disps for when I was away as I did not want to produce my mother with having to wash the clothies. Mmm so much for saving on washing, the disps leaked so much that I had to wash the baby grows as I would have run out otherwise. My mum had a different brand to me thinking they leaked less, I wasn't so sure. So if anyone asks if cloth nappies leak, in my experience less then disposables do.
