pregnancy update.

6+3 today.

Found out on Sunday that my big sister is pregnant too. Quite excited for her. She is not sure of her dates but thinks she is due august/sept time. By my calculations I am due Sept 1st so very close. Unfortunately her husband is in the army and is of to Afghanistan for 6 months at the end of March. She is more than likely going to be birthing without him. Very scary for her I can imagine as this is her first DC. I was single when I had my first DS and so I can understand how she must...

No going back now!!

Well it's all booked for tomorrow. Took Emmas pony club forms to the riding stables (RS) as they needed signing on their behalf too and booked a lesson while i was there!! It's tomorrow, half hour private lesson on a horse called Roxy, eeekkkk, scared but at the same time very much looking forward to it also :D :D ...

Time ticking on

I had a massive lie in today to make up for the late nights and early morning when my SIL and co were here. I am so not looking after myself sleep-wise. I keep promising myself a nap during the day when I do end up getting up early after a bad night, but never make it. And I am so useless at going to bed. It's often gone 10:30pm when I actually make move, and it's usually gone 11:30pm when I get to switch the light off. It doesn't help that hubbie doesn't come to bed until...

Enabling Hibernation in Ubuntu 12.04 on a Lenovo T400

In the hope that this helps someone out there do something that took way too much of my time and so that I don't forget:

1) First off make sure your swap partition is bigger than your RAM otherwise you wont have enough space to save the contents of your memory. Use gparted or whatever takes your fancy. Plenty of help on the net for this so I won't go into it.

2) Hibernation was removed from Ubuntu so you need to get it back into you shutdown menu again:

sudo nano /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla
