Hiccups and BH

I had a so-so evening yesterday.
Good points:
Cooking my OH a chilli con carne (not my cup of tea, but may have converted myself, haha!) and him adoring it :)
Pampering bath
Hypnobirthing relaxtion and massage
Not so good points:
Really sudden shooting pains down there, maybe to do with the engagement of the baby's head? At my 34 week mw appt baby was 3/5 engaged. This was followed by some rather intense...

sleep on it

Well, after having a good rest last night, I feel better about the whole birth thing. As my dh keeps reminding me, in many ways there is no "battle", because we won't be having a hospital birth (unless need to transfer urgently). I am beginning to understand the comments on the AIMS website about women becoming so fed up with it that they even consider having no mw. While I wouldn't have an unassisted birth, I do feel more anxious about who will be attending, and whether I get a nice mw....

Birth Story: Holly Ann Taylor

Holly Ann Taylor born 22.2.2012 @ 17.03 weighing 8lb 6oz, a natural drug free homebirth.

My contractions originally started on 21st at about 4pm, just as I was going to OH's parents for dinner, they were uncomfortable but bareable and by the time dinner was over they were starting to slow down though not easing so I just got on with my usual routine. They more or less disappeared over night so I got in to bed early and thought I best make the most of it as it was probably going to be my last decent...

Yet another waiting game

So this time it's me. Today I went to see the doctor about being tested for Huntington's disease, which runs in my family. I actually came away feeling much better about it, not for myself, I can live with that, for me not knowing is worse than anything else. For the fact that apparently while it is unlikely there is anything that can be done if I have it, it is quite likely that, should Austin get the disease, there will be some sort of treatment. The dr I saw today was much better than any other...
