I m pretty sure I used 60cm terries on dd2 from a few weeks.
I have only used one type of fold which I think is the bat/ Chinese one too. If that's the one, I used muslin squares like that first in hosp and for about 8 days. And had them folded ready too @cuppachaplz

They are massively bulky but do the job

I used 50cm squares for Oscar. Although I mainly used Muslins with a little lamb booster.

We only used 60cm terries as well, but thinner ones when Junior was smaller. Not sure when we started using them exactly, but he was tiny for ages, on the bottom centile space, even though he was 7lb 9 when he was born.

We used the Chinese / bat-wing fold to start, moved onto kite fold later.

I've only used 60cm and they were bulky but doesn't matter as in baby grows all time! Soon grow into them I wouldn't personally make them smaller for how long they will last. I used chinese fold when small moved onto gaynors and gave now found the corners fold which I love! It is the best gold I've found for containment only one which keeps poo in. It can be made small or big as required and ends up with bulk between legs where needed and very snug legs when rolled in.
