Beauty steals

Postby MissFrodo » Tue May 10, 2016 8:58 am

Not sure if this should be in the moneymatters topic or overhere so feel free to move it ;)

What are your beauty steal?? Think we can save money but unless you've tried you can't be sure if something not expensive works well so let's share our beauty steals.

Nivea Pure and Natural moisteriser works fab and isn't expensive at all and often on offer so even cheaper ;)
Nivea eye make-up remover lotion, nothing can beat this.
Dr Haushka mascara, ok maybe not that cheap but very very good even for sensitive eyes.

Will add when I think of more.

I haven't tried it yet but years ago my friend had this expensive oil wash from Ella Baché and it was just gorgeous - left your skin feeling incredible but I could never justify the price. I read a while ago about making your own oil cleanser that works out really reasonable so I want to try that.

Very surprisingly Lidl has quite good cosmetics - I'm currently using their day cream and it is lovely. I actually need some night cream as my skin seems to have got a message that I have now turned 40 and has given me wrinkles   (or it could be the cold winter then lots of garden time!). I'll let you know if I try the night cream. I've also used their mascara and it was good. Really randomly I read on a blog somewhere that their perfumes are actually not too bad for cheap everyday perfumes, not been brave enough to try as I'm a bit of a perfume snob!

@clothmama I'm very curious about the oilwash, can you tell me how to make it? Might give that a go.
Oh yes turning 40 does wonders for your skin  mine has changed in needs as well.
I did try the Lidl daycream and the nightone as well and I agree they are good though I try to use more natural stuff. Never seen mascara from Lidl overhere. My mum uses the Lidl perfume, at least one of them, I'm not really keen on the fragrance she uses (not sure about which one) but it does smell long.

I'm a Liz Earle fan. I know it's not as ethical as it was, but it works really well for me. It's not ridiculously expensive but it's my treat. I don't buy make up or perfume so I think it's OK!

@ems101 I love the cleanser, too bad postage makes it expensive.
