Seems I've started. Added piccies

Postby MissFrodo » Thu May 31, 2012 2:27 am

As I have bought 2 blackberries and 1 strawberry and lots of seeds :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Had plans to do this for years but as we need to move house I always said not until we've moved.......that was till I discovered pots :giggle: :giggle:

So I've started and try to make the garden a bit more fun to be in as well.

Will do pics later ;)

Like I said this is a few days ago, everything bigger now and the courgette is growing too. I have strawberries in the garden but they seem to have been too cold.
Will do more pics in a few days.

Hooray! Veggies are loads of fun and very relaxing (providing you grow easy stuff that doesn't need too much "keeping up with").
One tip: if you have lots of slugs/snails locally you may want to invest in kiddie/pet-friendly slug pellets (the green ones that turn into fertiliser rather than the blue nasty toxic sort) or if everything in patio pots some folks prefer copper tape around the pot bottoms. Slugs or snails will just go "chomp" and devour entire seedlings if they get the chance!

(not that I'm bitter cos my entire first crop of beans got munched this year during the wet spell, have had to start again and will be yonks til I get any beans!)

Miss Frodo...how are your veggies shaping up? Hopefully by now you'll have some tall plants where the seedlings were? Our beans hvae been mega munched but are struggling on now the sun's come and the slugs have crawled into their holes.

We also have beetroot, tomatoes, courgette, french beans and my hubbie's managed to grow lovely pots of normal and sweet basil (for thai curries).

Here's to the harvest!!
