:yahoo: :wine: finally I have my allotment key :happypixies:
It's a real state down there but I can't wait to get started and claim back our little patch of land :D
You should have seen the face OH's mum pulled when she asked how I was going to do it with Holly with me and I told her that she would be in the SSC on my back  she'll have to take it back when she realises that I *can* do it
I'll do pics when I get there, there won't be a lot I can do tomorrow as it really I a state, but I want to try and get a rough idea of the size and what we're going to do with it, so I'll have a tape measure an a camera with me :) woohoo

ETA: this is what we're starting with, taken 20.10.12 from (what will be) top corner of the site

Cool, can't wait to see pics. I'd love an allotment but they've actually closed the waiting list for our local ones as the list is so long  , literally years and years waiting.

We waited 3 years Frances! it's rediculous and then when we got there the place is overgrown all over the place and about 6 plots have come up at once as they have finally been taken back after people just left them! You'll see what I mean when I get the pics up, but it only seems to have spurred some action after I visited the site we were waiting for and phoned to complian that we were still waiting yet I could see empty plots all hover the place

Exciting times!
It will be easier to do it now at Holly's age. We had an allotment when dd2 was that age.
It only got harder when she starting walking and wandering off over everyone else's patch :hohoho: oh and tipping water and soil all over herself ( that bit was great fun though!)

I got an allotment recently too! Waited two years for it. There are obviously neglected patches so i don't know why the list was so long.. ah well. I'm waiting for the key now so I can get the onions in before it's too late.

:D

We have no hope of getting anything in this year! It will definitely be the new year before we can get anything in at the earliest
