Removing furniture dents from carpets

Postby Caroline » Fri Mar 09, 2012 10:39 am

We have just swapped round three of the bedrooms. It has left us with a load of dents in the carpets from where the furniture has been. Does anyone have any tips for removing them? The carpets are in good condition and we don't want to replace them.

We've had success with a damp tea towel or towel over the dent and an iron! I've read that ice cubes left to melt in the dents can work too although I've never tried it personally.

I've heard that ice-cubes work too but have never tried.

I have used ice cubes they were okay I found you need to work the pile after and perhaps repeat or steam.

I've just tried the damp tea towel and it looks better than it did.

We have moved Max into our old room so have taken out a super king bed and replaced it with a cot bed......LOTS of dents to do :hohoho: I might have to get them cleaned.

Yep, ice cube and then a clean stiff brush and give it a good scrub.

I move stuff around a lot as im easily bored lol, i generally find they improve over time anyway as hoovering, walking over etc moves the pile.

We are the same, our lounge is never the same 2 months running!
I have heard the ice cube thing as well but like Rox the dents tend to come out over time with hoovering etc x

I was going to say ice cubes too. Think you put the cube on and let it melt completely, then dry up the puddle... I saw it on This Morning :giggle:
